2007 THE BEGINNING

A Dream Takes Its First Step

  • In September 2007, on the auspicious occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi, a young doctor couple from a humble village background took their first step toward fulfilling their dream of serving the community.
  • They started a small clinic near Swarnapuri Bus Stop, Salem, with a simple yet powerful vision of providing compassionate, accessible, and quality healthcare. This humble beginning marked the start of a journey that would gradually grow into a comprehensive healthcare institution.
2009 CLINIC & DAY CARE CENTRE

Dr. Sharmila Senthil Kumar Fertility & Surgical Clinic

The journey continued with the establishment of the Dr. Sharmila Senthil Kumar Fertility & Surgical Clinic at Perumal Koil Street, Swarnapuri, Salem.

Along with outpatient consultations, the clinic provided day-care services, with a strong commitment to delivering quality medical care in a compassionate, ethical and patient-centred environment.

2015 SURGICAL CARE & OT

Expansion into Surgical Care

In 2015, the healthcare journey took another significant step forward with the expansion of surgical services.

An Operation Theatre (OT) was established in a private building on Kalaimagal Street, Salem, enabling the team to provide surgical procedures in a dedicated clinical setting.

This expansion strengthened the organisation's commitment to providing safe, accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to the community.

2017 NEARLY TWO DECADES

Growing into STARMED Health Centre

Nearly two decades later, that humble beginning has evolved into STARMED Health Centre, a modern multispeciality hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate healthcare under one roof.

Today, STARMED offers specialised medical and surgical care across Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Fertility, Urology, Andrology, Nephrology, Paediatrics and General Surgery, bringing together expertise, advanced facilities and patient-centred care to serve the healthcare needs of the community.
